Kīlauea is the youngest and southeastern most volcano on the Island of Hawai‘i. Since May 2018, the eruption and seismic activity in that area have been pretty continuous. However, recently the volcano is quieting down with decreased volume of lava and earthquakes. Scientists are not certain this is a permanent change and continue to monitor activity there.
