Our Newest Tour…
Swim with Dolphins and Snorkel at Kealakekua Bay* (Captain Cook Monument)
Enjoy our morning Dolphin Swim and Kealakekua Bay Snorkel in one tour!!
We have been successfully operating our eco-tours for almost 20 years and our 99% success rate in finding the Dolphins each day proves that we are the best Dolphin Swim Company on the Big Island. We are also honored to be among the few commercial boat companies that are permitted to bring snorkelers into Kealakekua Bay. Come join us on our 40ft boat “Uhane Nui O Naia” (which means Great Spirit of the Dolphin).
This amazing experience is one not to pass up while here on the Big Island, swimming with Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins and snorkeling at one of the best coral reefs in the Islands. You will be swimming with Dolphins that are 100% free and in their natural environment. All of our Dolphin swims are conducted with the utmost respect for the Dolphins and the entire marine environment, as we are guests in their world. Dolphins are among the most intelligent Beings on the planet and swimming with them in their own environment will amaze you.
Kealakekua means “The Pathway of the Gods”, and is the largest sheltered bay on the Island and it offers some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii. This is a place of beauty, historical significance, and a very sacred site. The crystal clear bay is abundant in sea life, the waters are calm and the coral reef is visible up to 100 ft. K-bay, as it is sometimes referred to by locals, has been designated as a Marine Life Conservation District and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also the home of the Captain Cook monument that marks the spot of the first recorded European contact with the Native Hawaiians of the Big Island.
Our Ocean Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR Certified Crew members will share the protocols for swimming with free Dolphins and snorkeling respectfully in Kealakekua Bay before anyone enters the water. This grand adventure is guaranteed to be a lifelong memory that will touch you deeply.
Join us on Tuesday or Saturday mornings and let your adventure begin. Check in is at 7:30am at the boat in the Honokohau Harbor. We will depart by 8:00am for a journey along the pristine Kona Coast. We will end the adventure back at our slip in Honokohau Harbor between 1 – 2 p.m.
*Dolphin swimming will be on the way to Kealakekua Bay, as swimming with Dolphins is not allowed in the Marine Life Sanctuary from permitted activity companies.
